Major Change of Ideas

Edit: April Fool's. The article completely fails to answer for the benefits of math and science (including medicine and natural disaster prediction). It grossly exaggerates the negative aspects of math and science. Incidentally, math and science have made a large positive difference in my life.

Good morning, everybody! I decided to write a blog post to say that I will be completely changing the way I view knowledge and the purpose of life.

Basically, "higher" knowledge (including logic, science, mathematics, etc.) is completely useless. There is no point in learning these subjects, which is why I have dropped all my college classes and will not be going to school today.

Instead, we should go to the fields, with a shovel and a rake, and grow crops. I will therefore end my blog and begin life as a worker at a ranch in Wyoming.


Why this sudden change, you might ask? A few days after my last post (which nobody seemed to read), I came upon a realization that, so far, my knowledge of math, science, and technology has brought me nowhere.

What I have learned has not helped me to lose weight, or gain pounds, or earn extra money, or earn anybody's respect, or become famous, or save any lives, or change any lives, or even solve any problems (besides those at the end of every Chemistry chapter). In other words, knowledge has made no positive difference in my life.

It has made no positive difference in anybody else's life, either.

Let's look at what math has done for us. Among other things, it has:
  1. Tortured students in schools
  2. Discriminated against less intelligent individuals (despite our belief that all men were created equal)
  3. Stolen hours of people's time
  4. Confused even the people who think they understand it
  5. And worst of all, caused people to combine irrationality with imagination
Clearly a negative impact. And the same goes for science and logic. The sciences are like illegal drugs - they result in a distorted worldview and cause serious damage.

Think of the Challenger and Columbia space shuttle accidents, for example. These disasters that resulted from the application of math and science. Same with the Virgin Galactic SpaceShip2 accident. Or look at what happened on 9-11-2001 in the U.S., with the terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center and the Pentagon.

People call them accidents and disasters, as if they were mistakes, but it all boils down to our use of math and science. Without our advanced knowledge of math and science, none of these things would have happened.

In contrast, manual labor has brought us food, clothing, and warm shelters. While astronomers stare at the sky and chemists play with chemicals, farmers are harvesting crops and ranchers are fattening their pigs and their cattle.

There are no negative aspects of an agricultural lifestyle, except where science has interfered by introducing toxic pesticides and fertilizers. Pure agriculture is only beneficial to society.

It boils down to a very simple observation: farmers feed us while scientists blow us to pieces. Which is worth more?

The answer should be obvious.

2014 in Photos

The year of 2014 is over; the year of 2015 has begun. Over the past year, I took a lot of pictures - more than 1200 photos of clouds, bugs, plants, rocks, and more. I deleted most of the low-quality and repetitive photos. Cold Hummingbird I took this photo after a late snowstorm in Spring. In the days leading up to the storm, it was warm and sunny and the fields were green, so the snow came rather unexpectedly.
